Maier zum Kirschner is sponsoring the 2026 equestrian tournament at Hofgut Allerer

From October 9 to 11, 2026, the idyllically situated Hofgut Allerer will once again host a diverse equestrian tournament.
Set in the stunning region between Bad Tölz, Holzkirchen, Miesbach, and Lake Tegernsee—just a 20-minute drive south of Munich—the event brings together dressage and show jumping riders at a professionally equipped facility.

The 43-hectare grounds of Hofgut Allerer offer ideal conditions for both horse and rider: a spacious indoor arena (20 × 60 m), an outdoor arena (70 × 30 m), a large show jumping arena, light-filled outdoor stalls, and additional amenities such as a grass arena and a horse walker. Here, athletic challenges blend with the calm, welcoming atmosphere of a modern equestrian facility dedicated to well-being and professional care.

The tournament program features competitions ranging from beginner classes to demanding dressage tests (up to S** level) and show jumping classes (up to L level). In addition to classic competitions, the schedule includes lead-line classes, rider tests, and combined scoring events. Many classes offer honorary prizes, while higher-level competitions feature cash prizes. The exact daily schedule is subject to change; interested parties can find the latest information on the Hofgut website.

We are delighted to sponsor the equestrian tournament at Hofgut Allerer from October 9 to 11, 2026. As a hotel and restaurant with a rich tradition located right on Lake Tegernsee, the region is close to our hearts—and that includes equestrian sports. Through our sponsorship, we aim to actively support the tournament and this beautiful facility.

Sponsors receive logo placement on posters, the event schedule, and the website (including a link). Sponsoring a specific competition includes multiple announcements over the PA system and a brief introduction of the company. Opportunities for sponsoring individual class segments, arena-side advertising, and exhibition spaces are also available. Anyone wishing to support the tournament or the facility can find full details and sponsorship opportunities in the sponsorship overview:

We look forward to exciting competitions, a great turnout, and support from the local community—and we extend our sincere thanks to Maier zum Kirschner for the partnership!

SPONSORING:

Wings for life world run 2026

We are proud to be an official sponsor of the Wings for Life World Run 2026 and thus send a visible signal of support for research into curing spinal cord injuries.

Run for a good cause

The global edition of the Wings for Life World Run took place on May 10, 2026 – a unique race without a classic finish line, in which participants run until they are overtaken by the virtual catcher car. 100% of the registration fees and donations go towards spinal cord research, which is why this project is particularly important to us as a sponsor.

Your visit to us

After the run, the Kirschner Stuben invites you to a cozy end: regional cuisine, a relaxed atmosphere and perfect relaxation for runners. Visit the Kirschner Stuben for typical Bavarian specialties and a warm welcome. We also recommend staying overnight at the nearby Hotel Maier zum Kirschner — comfortable, personal and ideally located for athletes and their companions.

If you would like to take part next year, you can find out and register directly with the organizer: Wings for Life World Run — official website . We are pleased to be part of this strong community as a sponsor and to run together for research.

Together for a good cause: We supported the WFLWR

Together for a good cause:

The Hotel Maier zum Kirschner supports the Wings for Life World Run in Rottach-Egern

On May 4, 2025, the time had come again: The Wings for Life World Run stopped in Rottach-Egern and transformed the lakeside promenade on Rottach Bay into a meeting place for sport, community, and solidarity. On that day, 310,719 runners worldwide took part and collectively raised €8.6 million for spinal cord research – an impressive sign of how much can be achieved through solidarity and commitment.

The enthusiasm was palpable in Rottach-Egern, too: Over 2,500 kilometers were run, contributing to further advancing research into a cure for spinal cord injury. An event like this thrives on the support of many – and the Hotel Maier zum Kirschner was a very special partner this year.

Strong Local Partnership
As a traditional, family-run hotel in the heart of Rottach-Egern, the Hotel Maier zum Kirschner is firmly rooted in the region. For the team, it was a given to actively support the Wings for Life World Run: With e-bikes for the organization, financial assistance, and spontaneous support with catering for participants after the run, the hotel demonstrated how valuable local commitment is for the success of an international charity event.

The hotel’s close proximity to the event location made it not only the ideal partner for logistical implementation, but also a meeting place for runners and volunteers. The spacious rooms, the friendly team, and the culinary diversity of the Kirschner Stuben ensured that everyone involved felt well looked after before, during, and after the run.

Raising awareness for an important issue
Special thanks also go to the Hotel Maier zum Kirschner for its support on social media: By sharing and co-posting the official event reel, the reach of the Wings for Life World Run was significantly increased – thus raising awareness of the important topic of spinal cord research even more.

Looking Forward Together
The organizers of the Wings for Life World Run hope to count on the support of the Hotel Maier zum Kirschner again next year. This year’s collaboration impressively demonstrated how much is possible when local businesses and international initiatives work together.

The entire team would like to express their sincere gratitude for the tremendous support and looks forward to many more joint projects – because every kilometer run and every helping hand brings us a step closer to the goal of a cure for spinal cord injury.

The organizing team is always happy to answer any questions or suggestions you may have. We look forward to seeing you at the next Wings for Life World Run in Rottach-Egern!

Franz Maier – From the hunt to the plate: hunter and restaurateur with passion

Walter Ringwald — Mon, 06 May 2024 09:48:50 +0000

Franz Maier – From the hunt to the plate: hunter and restaurateur with passion

The tradition of hunting on Lake Tegernsee goes back a long way, and today hunters play a crucial role in maintaining the natural balance and biodiversity. Franz Maier, restaurateur, hotelier and passionate hunter, combines his love of hunting with his passion for good food. In his restaurant “Kirschner Stuben” in the family-run Hotel Maier zum Kirschner, game from his own hunt is served on the table, which stands for freshness, sustainability and regionality.

The hunting tradition is deeply rooted in Franz Maier’s family, and it not only enriches the cuisine of his restaurant, but also contributes to maintaining the natural balance. After being killed, the game is immediately broken up, cooled and allowed to hang out in the game room in order to preserve its quality.

Franz Maier emphasizes the importance of “care and care” in hunting, which means that game needs special protection in different seasons. Hunting is not just about killing animals, but also about experiencing nature and respecting the creature.

In the Kirschner Stuben restaurant, guests can enjoy a variety of game dishes all year round, including venison, venison and chamois, accompanied by seasonal side dishes and regional products. Preparing game requires sensitivity and care in order to preserve the tender texture and pure taste of the meat.

The cuisine at the Kirschner Stuben reflects the connection with nature and offers down-to-earth dishes with influences from different regions. The restaurant invites guests of all ages and backgrounds to experience the rich culinary tradition at Tegernsee.

For Franz Maier, hunting is not only a passion, but also a commitment to protecting and preserving the natural environment. His message is clear: treating nature and its resources with respect is essential for a sustainable future.

“Around 1.8 million children in Germany suffer an accident every year – be it in kindergarten, at school, while playing or on the road. This means that on average every 18 seconds a child needs medical attention after an accident”

And by no means always can the parents be there immediately to comfort and soothe. Children think and feel differently than adults and are even less able to deal with pain because they do not understand it. In addition, there are strangers and a frightening environment in the ambulance and hospital. What is bad enough for adults becomes even worse for children.

The association Kleinepatienten in Not e.V. has therefore made it its task to support children in emergency situations in particular and to take care of child-friendly first aid and care.

Gusto – The culinary travel guide

Walter Ringwald — Mon, 12 Sep 2022 09:01:20 +0000

Gusto award for the Kirschner Stuben 2023

About Gusto

The restaurants and country inns recommended in the GUSTO guide are visited by the experienced testers anonymously, without prior consultation, as normal reserving and paying guests. All of our testing employees have in-depth professional background knowledge and a lot of experience with top gastronomy at home and abroad. Some have gastronomic training and have already worked as cooks or service staff in good houses, some are just gastro-mad career changers, professional hobby cooks, wine experts, journalists with a focus on travel and enjoyment.

Criteria when evaluating the restaurants and when classifying the kitchen performance

There are two categories here, which are separate from each other: on the one hand the kitchen performance and on the other hand the entire equipment, the ambience, the service quality or the wine and beverage offer of the restaurant. An upscale, award-worthy kitchen performance is awarded and classified with our pan symbol and point scale from 5 to 10 pans – for all other criteria the cutlery symbols stand for 1 to 5, which symbolically stands for a simple country inn to a luxury restaurant.

The Gusto pans

With the Gusto pans, only the kitchen performance of the respective restaurant is evaluated. The establishments awarded Pans offer cuisine that is particularly noteworthy in its category. We deliberately only use the imaginary rating scale of one to ten pans from five pans upwards, because in our opinion this is the threshold from simple, orderly and solid kitchen to above-average kitchen; in other words, a notable kitchen performance in its respective category. The “Pan Level” is intended to be a distinction and at the same time an incentive – the award-winning restaurants should stand out from the other addresses with this symbol and an evaluation. On the other hand, we think it is pointless and actually superfluous to also differentiate the kitchen performance in the area below the 5-pan level.

In any case, however, the following applies: Even in a house listed without pans, you can dine well. Depending on the occasion, expectations and taking into account the respective price level, the houses that have not been awarded a pan are also recommended.

For us, the harmony of the dishes always comes before creativity, careful preparation and good products before visual finesse. In the best case, however, all these criteria result in a harmonious whole.
