Naturally! Kreuth.
During the Pentecost holidays there will again be two weeks of family-friendly nature and adventure events. Then in the mountaineering village of Kreuth everything revolves around fauna and flora, forestry and alpine farming as well as the Kreuth producers who let us look over their shoulders as they work. It starts with a family action day. The complete program of “Naturally! Kreuth” ranges from guided hikes and horse-drawn carriage rides to alpaca yoga through to sightseeing and musical alpine experiences. There is a mountain biking day and a nature adventure hike especially for children. Info

BRB Timetable Changes
Due to construction work, there will be timetable changes for BRB trains from Monday, June 1st, to Saturday, June 13th, 2026. A rail replacement bus service will be provided between Schaftlach, Gmund, and Tegernsee. The buses will run at different times than the regular train schedule. Timetable

German championship hot air balloon at Tegernsee
From 20th to 23rd The German hot air ballooning championship will take place in the Tegernsee Valley in May 2026. Around 20 German and international pilots compete in demanding competitions with sports balloons. The start takes place daily based on the current weather conditions and the specific challenges of the competition from different starting points in the Tegernsee Valley and from the Warngau starting point. The starts take place in the early morning and late afternoon. No passenger trips are possible and there is no public supporting program. The Kreuzbergalm has been open again since last weekend. The Königsalm will open again on May 23rd, 2026 and has a new telephone number: +49 8029 1487.

Serenade by the Lake – postponed
Due to the weather, the serenade at the lake by the Rottach-Egern brass band was postponed from Sunday, May 17th to Friday, September 11th, 2026.

Opening of the Tegernsee Valley Museum including the opening of a special exhibition
Next Sunday, May 17th, the Intern. Museum Day, the Tegernsee Tal Museum opens into the summer season. At the same time, this year’s special exhibition “Setting the course – 125 years of the Tegernsee Bahn” will open.

Cyclists can reach these huts via the alternative route through the Söllbach Valley from Bad Wiessee.

Complete closure of the Gmund railway crossing
The Gmund Parksiedlung level crossing will be closed on April 27th, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to around 1:00 p.m. due to construction work. A diversion will be set up via Gmund Finsterwald.

Gmund – Tegernsee mountain trail
The high path between Gmund and Tegernsee will only be usable to a limited extent until April 30, 2026 due to renovation work. In some cases, sections have to be closed completely.

Bräustüberl closed
The brewery taproom will be closed for renovations from April 13th to April 19th, 2026.
The “Schlosswirtschaft” will be open daily from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm during this time.

Carnival Parade February 15, 2026 – Road Closure and Public Transport Disruption
The carnival parade will take place in Gmund again on February 15, 2026. From 12:00 PM to approximately 6:00 PM, the town center of Gmund will be completely closed to traffic. Please note that this will also affect public transport. The Gmund train station will be inaccessible from all directions. A replacement bus stop will be located at the Finsterwald secondary school. Connections to the BRB (Bayerische Regiobahn) and other buses will be available there. The detour will be via Finsterwald – Bayersäge to Bad Wiessee. The same applies in the opposite direction. The following stops will be temporarily closed: Gmund train station, Parksiedlung (both sides), and Kaltenbrunn (towards Bad Wiessee).

Ticket Sales for the Tegernsee Music Festival Start February 16, 2026
Offering official advance ticket sales for the popular music festival will begin next Monday, February 16. Tickets are available at all tourist information centers around the lake, all regular Munich Ticket advance booking offices, and online in the webshop. Bad Wiessee lakeside promenade reopens
The closure of the popular path in the area of ​​the Seegut construction site, which had been in place since October 2025, has been lifted. The lakeside promenade is now fully accessible again.

25th Tegernsee Valley Balloon Festival – February 1-8, 2026

Das für morgen, 6. Februar 2026, geplante Ballonglühen der Montgolfiade wird in angepasster Form an der Seepromenade Bad Wiessee durchgeführt. Grund dafür sind die im Vorfeld angekündigten Niederschläge, die eine Durchführung auf der Wiesenfläche am Sonnenbichl nicht zulassen.

Advent Magic at Lake Tegernsee

Snow Report
The first cross-country ski trails have been groomed, and in the Spitzingsee-Tegernsee ski area, the Stümpflingbahn, the Kurvenlift, the Suttenbahn (as a feeder lift), and the Lyralift will initially open on Saturday. New TegernseeCard benefit: healing SPA
Guests with a TegernseeCard and a minimum stay of three nights receive a 50% discount on the healing SPA at the iodine-sulfur baths three times a week from December 1, 2025. The same applies to the spa treatments.

Leonhardi Kreuth
The Leonhardi trip will take place in Kreuth on November 6th, 2025. The main street in Kreuth is closed from the town hall (coming from the north) between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. During this time, the buses only go to the town hall and turn back there. On this day, the tourist information office is open to guests extraordinarily from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Full Closure of the B318 Gmund – Münchner Berg
The closure of the B318 federal highway has been postponed by two weeks and will likely last from Monday, October 27th, until Friday, November 7th, 2025. The approximately one-kilometer-long section extending from the intersection of Münchner Straße/Mangfallstraße to the center of Dürnbach will be closed. The intersection itself will be unaffected and will remain open during this time. A detour via Kreuzstraße/Finsterwald will be signposted.

Montgolfiade February 1 – 8, 2026
This popular winter outdoor event is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Balloon rides can now be booked via the Tegernsee Web App. Information & booking here: Balloon Rides

Bad Wiessee Lake Promenade Partially Closed
Due to the Seegut construction site, a section of the lake promenade will be closed to pedestrians. The closure is in effect from September 29th to December 19th, 2025, and affects the section from the pavilion to Neureuthstraße. The detour will take place via Adrian-Stoop-Straße.

New Alpine Bus
The new Alpine Bus has been in service since December 14th. It connects Murnau and Rosenheim with an express service and also stops in Gmund. With the guest card and TegernseeCard, your guests can use the bus free of charge along the entire route.
